At RedteQ we take radiation compliance very seriously. In line with the Ionising Radiation Regulations 2019 (RR17), our people are fully trained and certified and we have a Radiation Protection Supervisor plus external Radiation Protection Adviser to ensure we keep fully up to date with the latest legislation.
It is a regulatory requirement that x-ray machines receive an annual radiation survey to ensure the lead curtains and lead lining are effective and there is no leakage. Not only do we provide these annual surveys but whenever we attend a site to service or repair x-ray equipment, we carry out a survey as a matter of course when opening up the machine.
It is also a requirement that a survey is carried out whenever a machine is moved. As part of a Critical Examination Report, we can conduct a full radiation survey and test the relocated machine to ensure your organisation remains compliant.
Do you have trace equipment containing a small radioactive source? If so, did you know these also need regular testing for radiation leaks? These are generally required once every two years, or as specified by the HSE. A simple swab test, we can advise upon and conduct these upon request.
